SUMMARY:Understanding the State Budget Process | LWVNJ Activist Training
DESCRIPTION:Date: Tuesday\, March 12th\nTime: 6pm – 7:30pm\nLocation: Zoom\nREGISTER FOR TRAINING \nEach year the Executive and Legislative Branches work together to approve a new state budget and determine how the state’s resources will be allocated. This process is complex and can be difficult to follow. During this training experts will walk you through how government agencies and the Office of Management and Budget collaborate to determine policy and program priorities\, review important fiscal deadlines\, and help you understand the ins-and-outs of this important government exercise. \n\nThe Activist Training Program was launched in 2021 with the goal of providing free and nonpartisan public education and training on the knowledge and skills activists need to drive grassroots change and defend democracy. \nLWVNJ offers training in 4 core areas: \n\nUnderstanding New Jersey Government\nGrassroots Organizing\nVoter Outreach\nLegislative Advocacy\n\nThese trainings are open to League members and members of the public who support the League’s mission and goals.
