But what about local government?   In New Jersey\, thousands of municipal and county government officials are responsible for making critical daily decisions and delivering essential services to the communities they serve. Despite the tremendous power that local government has over our daily lives\, most people know little to nothing about what it does or how it works. \nJoin this training to learn about the structures and powers of the local government bodies that are making decisions for your community. \n\nThe Activist Training Program was launched in 2021 with the goal of providing free and nonpartisan public education and training on the knowledge and skills activists need to drive grassroots change and defend democracy. \nLWVNJ offers training in 4 core areas: \n\nUnderstanding New Jersey Government\nGrassroots Organizing\nVoter Outreach\nLegislative Advocacy\n\nThese trainings are open to League members and members of the public who support the League’s mission and goals.

DESCRIPTION:NJ Abolition Workshop\n\n\n\n\n\nAll workshop sessions will be free for participants. We will only request that everyone who attends\, come with both the intention to learn and the willingness to share with others. The greater goal for this program is to promote an “Each One Teach One” strategy. We hope attendees will bring the knowledge they gain from the workshops back to their organizations and communities.
