DESCRIPTION:Friday September 19 – Sunday September 21\, 2025 \nSee website for more info. \n  \nWHY\nIn a time when climate denial\, corporate greed and political inaction threaten our communities and future\, we gather not in despair but in prophetic defiance and faithful hope. It’s a moral imperative for people of faith and spirit to come together to shine a light that cannot be ignored. We are building a constellation of courage for climate justice all across the country. \nWHO\nPeople of all faiths (and no faiths) interested in climate justice\, wanting to take action. \nFrom seasoned activists to first timers – all are invited! Join GreenFaith\, United Church\nof Christ\, Third Act\, Fossil Free Media and others. \nWHAT\nSun Day: Faiths for Climate Justice. \nA weekend of sacred action rooted in justice\, spirit\, and community. Shining our light for climate justice. Some ideas: prayer vigils\, pilgrimages\, sitting meditation\, teach-ins\, parades\, joyful picnics\, solar panel house tours\, hanging a green lantern at your congregation\, municipal building\, or home. \nEach local group designs their own event\, collaborating with the interfaith community\, climate\naction groups or municipal partners. \nWHERE\nNew Jersey communities\, joining a nationwide celebration and mobilization. \nWHEN\n• September 21 is the Solar Equinox – one of 2 days in the year when all the world gets equal amounts of sunlight.\n• Demonstrate strong and undeniable support for clean energy in advance of UN Climate Week in NYC (September 21 – 28)

We briefly outline the talking points\, provide you with a sample script and then the phone number of the legislators to call. And you make the call right there—in real time. \nYou don’t have to prepare.  You don’t have to commit to coming to every single Action Hour.  This is not a committee\, nor a commitment—it is a come-as-you-are-able opportunity! \nCan’t join us on a particular Friday\, or maybe noon is just never gonna work for your schedule?  No problem!  The Google Doc will have all the information you need so that you can take the action at a time convenient for you.  Not only that— we hope you will share the action with your congregation or community\, and our one little pebble can start to produce ripples.
