We briefly outline the talking points\, provide you with a sample script and then the phone number of the legislators to call. And you make the call right there—in real time. \nYou don’t have to prepare.  You don’t have to commit to coming to every single Action Hour.  This is not a committee\, nor a commitment—it is a come-as-you-are-able opportunity! \nCan’t join us on a particular Friday\, or maybe noon is just never gonna work for your schedule?  No problem!  The Google Doc will have all the information you need so that you can take the action at a time convenient for you.  Not only that— we hope you will share the action with your congregation or community\, and our one little pebble can start to produce ripples.

SUMMARY:The Woodlands 🌳🏳️‍⚧️
DESCRIPTION:The Woodlands: a Monthly Trans/Nonbinary Pastoral Care Space\nThe Woodlands is a monthly online gathering designed for trans children\, youth\, and adults—as well as the parents and caregivers of trans people. \nEach session will begin with a shared message and grounding ritual\, followed by breakout rooms tailored to different communities within our circle\, and we come back together for a release. Sessions will be about an hour and a half. \nEach breakout room—co-facilitated by two chaplains—will offer space for meaningful check-ins where we can honor our grief\, celebrate our joy\, and support one another. The spirit of each room will reflect the people within it. \nFor example: \n\n🌲 The Sequoias Room: for parents and caregivers of trans people\n🌱 The Saplings Room: for trans children and youth\n🌳 The Sycamores Room: for trans adults\n\nOur first gathering will be on Sunday\, September 7\, 2025\, at 4pm ET \nREGISTER NOW

SUMMARY:The Reality of Black Maternal Mortality in America
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, February 24\, 2026\n7:30 PM – 8:30 PM ET\nOnline\nRegister \nBlack women in the United States are three to four times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women and this devastating disparity persists across income\, education\, and geography. This is not a coincidence. It is the result of systemic racism\, gaps in care\, and policies that consistently fail Black mothers and families. \nJoin us to hear from experts who will explain what is driving this crisis\, why it continues\, and what real solutions look like. We’ll explore how bias impacts treatment\, the role of access and quality of care\, and the urgent reforms needed to ensure safe pregnancies and births for Black women. Most importantly\, we’ll share ways you can take action to protect maternal health and racial equity. \nSee you there!

SUMMARY:Noncooperation Can Save Democracy
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, February 26\n7:00pm\nRegister \nResearch in countries experiencing democratic backsliding shows that nonviolent noncooperation—including strikes\, boycotts\, civil disobedience and alternative institutions—is a highly effective tool to defend democracy. By refusing to cooperate with unjust policies or authoritarian regimes\, citizens disrupt the system’s power\, make repression more costly\, and can shift loyalties within the government. Protesters need to add noncooperation tactics to their arsenal in order to stop authoritarianism and save democracy. Tony Giordano will present an update of his Sept. dialog on civil resistance.

SUMMARY:Rally to End ICE Camps: Defend Roxbury!
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, February 28\n11am – 1pm EST\nRoxbury Town Hall\n1715 US-46\nLedgewood\, NJ\nRegister \nTHEY LIED. THEY SOLD. WE FIGHT. \nOn Wednesday\, Dalfen Industrial sat in our town and told us there was no deal. Less than 48 hours later\, we found out the truth: They sold our community out to the DHS for a paycheck. They held our town’s safety and people’s lives ransom for a tax cut\, and when they didn’t get their way\, they signed the papers in the dark. \nWe are not moving. We are not yielding. We are their new reality. \nDalfen Industrial thinks they can walk away from Roxbury with their pockets full while we live with the consequences of a mass detention center in our backyard. They are wrong. We are going to be the most persistent\, unending nightmare this company has ever faced. \nWe are gathering at the heart of our local government—less than a mile from the site—to show that Roxbury stands united. We are calling on our local officials to use every zoning law\, every permit denial\, and every legal hurdle possible to make this facility impossible to operate. \nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
