DESCRIPTION:JOIN US FOR…\nThe launch of Beacon Hope & Equity Center\n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday September 24th 4:00 PM\n695 Springfield Ave\, Summit\, NJ *outdoors* \nLight fare\, music\, & brief program honoring community organizers: \n\nAntonne Henshaw of Transformative Justice Initiative\nAna Paola Pazmiña of Unidad Latina en Acción NJ\nJenifer Pelaez of New Labor\n\nClick here to RSVP \n\nBeacon Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Summit has created a supporting organization – Beacon Hope and Equity Center – to build equity and establish justice. Our mission is to decolonize wealth. \nOver the last two years\, we’ve been able to donate thousands of dollars in micro-grants to create immediate relief to individuals struggling with food and housing insecurity. We’ve also forgiven over $2 million dollars of medical debt across New Jersey and created a $25\,000 matching grant for the Summit Interfaith Council’s relief fund for undocumented individuals and their families. And we are just getting started. \nOn September 24th\, we honor the community organizers who are daily deliverers of justice and creators of hope in action. These community organizers build vital trust and power to create lasting change. Beacon Hope and Equity Center would not be able to lead our microgrant program without community organizers like those listed below who we will honor.
