About Us

UU FaithAction NJ coordinates grassroots social justice advocacy with our member congregations and individual UUs and allies across the state of New Jersey.  We work to establish a just and compassionate public policy, guided by our Unitarian Universalist values and covenant:

  • Upholding the worth and dignity of every person;
  • Furthering justice, equity, and compassion in human relations;
  • Defending the use of inclusive democratic processes;
  • Protecting religious freedom;
  • Promoting respect for the interdependent web of all existence.

We build on the histories of Unitarians and Universalists who, for over 200 years, have combined hands-on work for justice with the free search for truth and meaning. As Unitarian Universalists, practicing our shared values of justice, generosity, interdependence, pluralism, equity, and transformation is an essential part of our individual and collective spiritual journeys.

As UU FaithAction NJ, we put this into practice by collaborating with coalition partners across the state and advocating to our state representatives in Trenton. We take action in the form of letter writing and calling representatives, teach-ins and trainings, testimony and lobby days in Trenton, and public rallies and marches.

To amplify our impact, we focus our efforts:

Our commitment to racial justice and antiracism runs through all our interdependent issue areas.
