USR Defending Democracy Series: Activist Panel

Hear from activists working on current issues in immigration, voting rights, and education. Youll learn about challenges in each area, strategies activists employ, and ways you can get involved.
Charles Loflin, the Executive Director for UU Faith Action New Jersey, our statewide advocacy group, will moderate the panel.
Sally Pillay is a New Jersey-based immigration justice advocate with years of experience supporting detained immigrants and asylum seekers through direct service, organizing, and community-based advocacy.
Deb Lee is a civic leader who serves on the Board of Directors for both the League of Women Voters of New Jersey and the League of Women Voters of Ridgewood.
Julie Larrea Borst is Co-Founder and Co-Director of the NJ Institute for Community Schools at Saint Elizabeth University and former Executive Director, Save Our Schools NJ Community Organizing.

 

TAKE ACTION
We will collect grocery gift cards to distribute to the families of detainees at Delaney Hall. $25 cards to ShopRite, Stop & Shop, Target, and Walmart are appreciated. Thank you for your generosity!
