Despite frigid temperatures and high winds, representatives from numerous advocacy organizations across the State rallied on Monday to push Senate and Assembly leadership to pass the seven priority bills that are part of the People’s Agenda. These are the bills:
- Immigrant Trust Act (S3672/A4987)
- John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act of NJ (S2352/A904) and John R. Lewis Voter Empowerment Act of NJ (S3009/A4083)
- Climate Superfund Act (S3545/A4696)
- Gender Affirming Care Protections (S3491/A4656)
- Reproductive Healthcare Insurance Coverage (S3452/A4601)
- Rehabilitative Release/Second Look (S2338/A4463)
- Use of Force Policy (S2348/A4175)
Attendees heard from 1-3 speakers for each bill, ending each section with a chant in support of the bill in question. After the rally, there were snacks and hot drinks provided to all attendees. Everyone was encouraged to stay for hallway lobbying as well, which continued into the afternoon. Thank you to all who participated in this chilly day!
