Statement on S2260/A2218 From the Reproductive Justice Task Force

By Jami Thall

At a time when reproductive health care, which includes abortion care and gender affirming care, is under attack in much of our nation, UUFANJ commends our legislators for the passage of S2260 out of the Senate Health committee.  As Unitarian Universalists, we believe unequivocally that we all have the fundamental right to access essential reproductive care.  We look forward to the swift passage of this legislation in both the Senate and the Assembly, and the signature of Gov. Sherrill to ensure that in New Jersey patients and providers are fully protected under the law.

There is more work to do to get this legislation over the finish line.  Please tune in to our Action Hours and sign up for other alerts to continue our advocacy in support of these essential protections.

The Reproductive Justice Task Force (RJTF) would also like to thank everyone who has contributed to our effort to raise funds to cover the cost of menstrual supplies for people being detained at Delaney Hall.  If you’d like to support this project click the link HERE.  Every dollar helps.  It is an absolute disgrace that our government does not provide these basic hygiene products at no cost to those being detained.
